HIGH RISE STRUCTURES - Hotels

Airey Taylor Consulting has extensive experience in the structural design of large hotel and hospitality centres, many of which are located in the central Perth district. These projects reflect innovative and competitive design in high-rise architectural structures. They also reflect our focus on co-operative and responsive team effort in achieving project excellence with our Consultant partners.

This project was awarded a High Commendation in Division 3 of the MBA Awards for Excellence 1999.

A new 9 level wing was added to the existing building with upgrading of the foundations for a new swimming pool above the guest suites. These structural changes were designed to allow full operational function of the hotel to continue whilst being carried out. The construction system adopted was precast concrete perimeter walls with internal load bearing brick walls to yield an additional 108 guest suites for a project cost of $8.6 million.

This commission comprised refurbishment and conversion of the existing multi-level office building for use as an inner city hotel. The project was the recipient of the 1997 MBA Excellence in Construction Awards, Division 3.

Sheraton Perth Hotel & Office Complex
Airey Taylor Consulting was recently commissioned to design an additional level of carpark over the existing carpark. This work was a precursor to the construction of a proposed 13 level apartment building at the corner of Adelaide Terrace and Hill Street.

The existing hotel building has recently been refurbished and enhanced to incorporate additional major banquet room and guest facilities.

Structural modifications and additions were designed by Airey Taylor Consulting, as have all structural elements of the complex since its inception.
